In The King of Fighters XII, Ash makes an appearance, but does not have a team. Ash appears as the only character who does not belong to a defined team. Ash's role in King of Fighters XIII reveals that he has been trying to stop the ambitions of the organization , seen in 2003 and XI. Ash comes into direct conflict with the organization's leader, Saiki. He acts as the final boss of The King of Fighters XIII, imbued with power stolen from Saiki, who is attempting to possess him. He ultimately sacrifices himself to destroy Saiki, much to his regret as it wasn't his intention to die. He is voiced by Sōnosuke Nagashiro in Japanese.

Ash often gains his teammates through promises that he can fulfill, though he rarely specifies the means of granting them. Despite seeming frail by appearance, he is powerful, as he is able to defeat Iori in his Riot of the Blood state seemingly with ease. Ash also has the unique ability of creating green fire.

He has been successful thus far, leaving Kyo as the last power he needs to steal
